Who we are, how we started
In the year 1985 two musicians in a touring rock band, Robert Woods & Jeanie Black, decided to hang up their dreams of being rockstars and shift focus on the financial security of their future.
One afternoon Robert “Bobby” Woods was having a passing conversation with a Nevada Highway Patrol Officer, and the NHP officer started to express his departments distaste with the current towing services. He said there was a lack of quality and professional service available to Law Enforcement and Search & Rescue, and that one conversation is all it took to plant the idea in Bobby’s head. Bobby had operated tow trucks during his tenure at the Nevada Test Site as did his father before him.
The next step was purchasing the 1970 Chevy Wrecker pictured on this page and converting the backyard of his house to an improvised impound lot. With Jeanie running phones and directing calls out of their home, and Bobby towing vehicles and providing roadside assistance, Two Star Towing was born.
By 1988, Two Star Towing had grown rapidly and required the purchase of the 5 acre parcel on W Charleston Park where the company is located now. In 1993, the companies first Heavy Wrecker was purchased thus allowing Two Star Towing to assist a wide array of customers.
Now almost 40 years later, Two Star Towing has grown their fleet to over 10 vehicles ranging from Landoll roll off trailers to Four Wheel Drive offroad towing vehicles. Two Star Towing is the oldest continuous towing service in Pahrump and has been a member of the AAA Roadside Assistance Program for over 35 years and is licensed in both Nevada and California.
